I am new to this blogging concept so you may see my blog metamorphose over time.

I decided it was time to shed those post baby kilos which is no mean feat in itself.  Also my baby is now 3yrs so I have no excuse. 

I am my own worst enemy as so judgemental.  If I have a goal I like to stick to it and hate failing.  So I have set some weight loss goals and decided to get fit at the same time.  So set a goal for that too.  I did think however I needed to make myself accountable and thought what better way than through blogging to strangers.  So hope you are ready for my journey.  BTW 35kgs to shed to be the perfect weight.  Monday morning is my weigh day so lets see how I did and I will keep you informed with the breaking news.

I started a week ago by following a training guide for beginners to get ready for a triathalon although they have a duathlon as an option so I am doing that as water and me are not best friends.  As the programme includes swim training I substituted it with TurboJam as some cardio work to help my non existent abs.

Monday 25Aug I did my 3rd ever session of TurboJam of non stop work for 17mins.  (I have owned the DVD programme for 18months). I then have a rest day.  Wednesday was a walk, so I walked for what I thought should be 30mins but only took 20mins.  Came home to a teary eyed girl as I hadn’t taken her.  So off we went with the buggy for a 3min run as I needed to be home for ‘Home and Away’ lol.  This time I got 2 rest days.  Today however I had to dust off my bike that has hardly been used much like the DVD and had for the same length of time.  I rode and peddled for 20mins and boy was it a struggle getting home again.  I can feel those abs though, yahoo.

I have officially finished Week 1 of training as tomorrow is another rest day and feel rather motivated.  I looked at last years times for the duathlon and set a goal based on someone close to my age. 11mins to run 1.5km, 36mins to bike 10kms and 31mins to run 3kms.  Now I am no runner so to even consider this was the first hurdle.  I did get quite emotional though as can see it a reality and the buzz I will get for achieving is an amazing thought.

Great idea Bee, this blog! I wish you all the very best on your quest to get fit and complete the dualthlon, and will be following this with earnest! Will no doubt be a very inspiring read :o) xo
