Can I do it? Yes I can!

My life to being fit and healthy

Time is of the essence

Today was another manic day to get out the door.  We dropped Dayna at day-care and headed to the shops.  Martin needed new casual shoes as he has holes in the soles of three pairs.  We got those and headed to the mall to exchange something that was the wrong size.  After we were finished there we had enough time to race downstairs to the kids concert of Shrek.  Isaiah found a spot at the front and then had his cousins join him.  It felt like a long concert but the kids all enjoyed it.  By the end we were all hungry but waited till we got home and had litebread with tomato or marmite and cheese.  I love this lunch.

Martin and I started cleaning the cupboards so they are nice and clean now.  The day just flitted and by 4.50pm I was concerned Turbo Jam just wasn’t happening.  We went to start dinner and realised we were out of buns so Martin and Dayna decided to go to the shop and pick some up.  Isaiah didn’t want to go but then paniced as the car was at the end of the drive.  He raced out the house and went for the ride.

This was perfect I now had the house to myself so thought what better time to do Turbo Jam.  I worked hard and felt exhausted I think from the hip muscle recovery.  Also the 2 hour walk around the zoo yesterday and all the Spring Cleaning we are trying to achieve these holidays.  Anyway I felt the sweat (no Mum I’m not a horse lol).  I knew that was a good sign of a good workout.  I also needed 2 glasses of water in the 20min session.

As I was finishing up the family got home so the timing was perfect.  We had a yummy but easy dinner one I had as a kid.  Burger buns toasted then put luncheon on it and baked beans and then sprinkle with cheese and grill it till the cheese melts.  Well we all like it so something on our menu as a favourite.

While we were watching Top Chef we managed to flood the laundry as had Dayna’s wet undies in the sink.  Boy was it flooded, took forever to mop it and the amount of towels needed was crazy.  The funny thing is we were going to move the washing machine and dryer out to clean behind  during these holidays as knew it would be dirty as not a job we do regularly.  Well this flood just got us doing it now.

Laundry, Kitchen, lounge and Dayna’s room complete.  Our room we have a cupborad to tidy up and also I want to vacum the floor where the headboard is.  Isaiah’s room needs the wardrobe tidied out.  The bathroom just needs its regular clean.  That leaves the BIG job of the garage.  Well we have a week left so should get that done in that time.  I am sure all this cleaning is using calories.

Well tomorrow I have my longest ride yet.  50mins, so that should be good but I know it is to be windy here in Wellington (surprise, surprise).  Isaiah has a pool party to go to.  Found out today, they forgot to give us the invite.  Funny thing is we were going to the pool sometime these holidays and now the day is chosen, tomorrow.

Take care and good sleeping.

I’d forgotten your zoo trip and wondered why you hadn’t posted for a couple of days.
Good to see at least one of the easy meals from childhood days has stood the test of time. I know none of you like ‘mince’ (unless it’s SpagBol or Lasagne), but totally understandable!!

The long slow (or steady) distance (LSD) is a great way to burn calories. This will be your aerobic state and it’s here that you burn more fat. Anaerobic which is harder on your body actually doesn’t burn as much fat. With running you need to be running about 20 minutes before you start to burn the fat, where as with biking you’re constantly in a fat burning state.

Hope the wind isn’t too rough on you.

Enjoy the pool!
